MTB Cycle Skills Courses & Guided Rides in the New Forest, Purbecks and Isle of Wight

About Cycle Guides (UK)

Cycle Guides (UK) was set up by its founder David Stain under the original name New Forest Guides. Having competed at national level in two sports (Motocross & Jet-Skiing), worked in a French ski school and held several senior corporate positions, David decided to turn his passion for teaching and Mountain Biking into his business.

From cross country racing to epic tours David has mountain biked for over 26 years now, initially using it as a training medium for his other sporting interests David is keen to apply both his business acumen (David has worked for both NASDAQ listed and FTSE top 250 listed business’s around the globe at senior level) and his natural talent for developing people to achieve their true potential:

‘I see so many mountain bikers that with a little direction and guidance could discover so much more about themselves, their equipment and the environment they ride in’.

We are located in a truly stunning part of the world and have access to literally breath-taking terrain. Anyone that thinks its flat in the south needs to come out for a ride with us in the Purbeck's or over to the Isle of Wight. The difference here in the south is you have sea views and the southern costal climate to help you along the way.

The New Forest offers different terrain but just as stunning, it gives the experts a chance to clock up some serious mileage or the novices & families the opportunity to discover proper off road cycling. Its a perfect environment to develop your leading and teaching skills that is accessible via excellent road and rail networks.

‘Cycle Guides (UK) have clients that come from London on the train, spend the day with us cycling in the New Forest then go back on the train that evening or, if the après ride gets a little ‘liquid’, they use the B&B and Hotel network on our doorstep’

Mountain Biking is one of the fastest growing sports in the UK, we spend a lot of money on magazines, bikes and equipment yet when it comes to learning how to use the equipment or the environment better we are either reluctant to spend the money or the option isn’t available. The later is now solved by Cycle Guides (UK).

In terms of spending the money, think about this. In many other sports you would pay for training and development without thinking about it, Golf, Horse Riding & Skiing to name but a few.

So come on sort your priorities out, don’t just amble along making the same errors, dreaming about what could be or, riding the same route over and over, join us, make the most of your talent and investments.

My philosophy in life is simple:
